Ayr is a small village in south eastern North Dakota, north USA. The community is located not far away from Interstate 94, near the town of Buffalo. The settlement was founded in 1880s and by 1930s it has reached the peak of its population, which those times exceeded 130 people. It was a typical local rural agricultural community, situated near a small railway station. Today, there are no more than two dozen of people living in Ayr constantly, making it about 10 families and about a dozen of households. There is a small agricultural facility, the Arthur Company Ayr Terminal where grains and other products are being preserved.
