Williamson Park was constructed by a British businessman, philanthropist, and politician James Williamson, 1st Baron Ashton, and his father. The Grade 1 listed iconic Ashton Memorial which was commissioned by Lord Ashton, is situated in the center of the park. Entry to the park and the Ashton Memorial is free. You can also visit Butterfly House and Pavilion Cafe within the park. The park is a few miles from junction 33 and 34 of the M6. Williamson Park in Lancaster hosts Highest Point Festival and a 5 km park run event.
