Tijuca National Park is a famous natural preserve situated not far away from Rio de Janeiro city center, in south western Brazil. The park is considered to be a forest and also one of the largest urban forests on the continent, with the area close to 12.5 square miles. It has been a national park since the early 1960s, and recently Tijuca Forest has been added to the list of the UNSECO World Heritage Site list.
