It hosts sporting events and concerts and has a seating capacity of 20,000. The arena was built from 2003 to 2007, designed by HOK Sport (POPULOUS), and opened to the public on 24 June 2007. The O2 in London hosted the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2012 Summer Paralympics, as well as ATP Finals between 2009 and 2020. The 2022 Laver Cup was also held at the O2 Arena between 23 and 25 September 2022. As of 2021, the O2 Arena has been the world's busiest arena.
