A wonderful large town of Scandicci can be found in the region of Tuscany, near the city of Florence, in the central part of Italy. Located just 6 miles south of Florence, the town can be considered on outskirts residential district of Florence. It is a relatively young community established in the 18th century as a result of a merge of a few smaller villages. It was initially named Torri. Due to its location, the town used to become the area where rich families from Flornce had their villas and summerhouses, so it is possible to see a large number of those in today's Scandicci. There are a few historical buildings, palaces and cathedrals, monuments and streets that can be fun to explore. The town is a tourist attraction known for its close location to he Badia a Settimo, an old castle built in the 9th century AD.
