Sakaka or Sakakah, (سكاكا) is the capital of Al Jawf Province, located to the north of the An Nafud Desert, in northwestern Saudi Arabia. It has a total area of 100 km2 (40 sq mi). Despite being located right near the An Nafud Desert, the area around the city is very rich in water, and there are olive and palm tree gardens surrounding the city. Sakakah is an old city, with a lot of historic places like Zaabal Castle, Mard Castle, Sesera Archeological Well, Rajajil Columns, and Omar Mosque in Dumat Al-Jandal. There are also several hotels, shopping malls, grocery stores, restaurants, and parks in the city. Al Jouf Domestic Airport is located 24 kilometers south of the city center. The city is also home to Jouf University Main Campus.
