Qom City is a large metropolitan area and the main city of Qom Province situated in the north central part of Iran, one of the largest countries of the Middle Eastern region. Located in the area of the low plains near Namak Lake, which remains dry for most of the time of the year, the city can be found about 90 miles south of the capital city of the country Tehran. The area of Qom is estimated to be about 77 square miles and the city is among the top 10 largest metropolitan areas in the country.
