Perinad is a large town situated in the district of Kollam which is in the southern part of Kerala state, southern India. It can be found about 9 miles away of the city of Kollam, near a small railway station. Perinad is an old town, with the current population close to 33 thousand people. The settlement is situated on the shores of a beautiful Ashtamudi lake and is a mainly agricultural settlement, with plenty of fields and farms surrounding the area. For the last few decades it has been developing rather quickly and is one of the key center of education and social life of the area. There is a small IT Park as well as a few scientific establishments like Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL) and Fashion Technology Institute located in the town.
