Oklahoma shares its borders with the states of Arkansas and Missouri to the east, the state of Kansas and Colorado to the north, and the southern state of New Mexico to the east. It includes the area with the historical locations known as the earliest inhabited regions of the country. Oklahoma is famous for its diverse interesting culture, large oil and natural gas deposits, numerous industrial and agricultural centers, changing and sometimes a quite harsh climate, etc.

Oklahoma City is the capital and the largest city of the state. It can be found in the central part of the state, and the city is the center of a large metropolitan area which is formed together with the cities of Norman, Edmond, Moore, and a few other smaller ones. The terrain of the state is not homogeneous and there are some mountainous parts, as well as some lowlands and dry plains, prairies, in Oklahoma. The eastern part of the state is the greenest, and there are a few national forests like Ozark National Forest and Ouachita National Forest, located on the border between Oklahoma and Arkansas. The northeastern part of the state is crossed by the river of Arkansas which flows near the metropolitan area of Tulsa which s the second largest in the state.
