Neyshabur, or Nishapur (نیشابور), is a large city known as The City of Turquoise, in northeast Iran, northcentral part of the province of Razavi Khorasan, located at the foot of the Binalud Mountain range, 130 kilometers west of Mashhad and 117 kilometers east of Sabzevar. This city is an important industrial and cultural center of the region and the second-largest city in the province. Its history dates back to 5500 B.C. It is famous for its turquoise mines. It also has a great number of cultural monuments and attractions like parks, museums, historic buildings, monuments, and mausoleums. Points of interest in the city include the Mausoleum of Omar Khayyám, the Mausoleum of Attar of Nishapur, the Khanate Mansion of Amin Islami, the Wooden Mosque, Shah Abbasi Caravansarai, Imamzadeh Mahrouq, and Shah Abbasi Caravanserai & Museum.
