Nagqu (那曲市) is a prefecture-level city in northeast Tibet, China. It is located very high in the mountains, about 14,554 ft high. It is accessible by railroad or road, and you can enjoy local clean air and wonderful nature. It has a total area of 450,537 km2 (173,953 sq mi). It is bordered by Nyingchi, Lhasa, Shigatse to the south, Bayingolin and Hotan Prefectures to the north, Ngari Prefecture to the west, and Chamdo, Yushu to the east. The China National Highway 109 serves the area. Nagqu consists of 89 townships, 25 towns, and 1283 villages.
