Mount Clemens, nicknamed Bath City, is a city in Michigan, USA, located on the banks of the Clinton River and 23 miles northeast of Detroit. It is within the Detroit metropolitan area and serves as the seat of Macomb County. Situated in the south-central part of the county, it was settled by Christian Clemens at the end of the 18th century and incorporated in 1879 as a city. The city was known for its bathhouses and many famous people like Jack Dempsey, Mae West, and Clark Gable visited there to enjoy mineral baths. Today, there are only a few places to offer mineral baths in the city, like the Olympia Salon & Spa. Local attractions that both tourists and residents enjoy are Anton Art Center, the Emerald Theatre, Crocker House Museum and Gardens, and Mount Clemens Ice Arena. Interstate 94 serves the area.
