Margaret Court Arena, formerly known as Show Court 1 (1988–2003), is a popular venue with a capacity of 7,500, located within Melbourne Park, next to Rod Laver Arena, at Olympic Blvd, in Melbourne Victoria, Australia. It was designed by NH Architecture and Populous, built in 1987, opened in 1988, renovated, and expanded in 2014. It has been one of the venues for the Australian Open since 1988. It also hosts basketball and netball games, musical concerts, etc. Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne hosted many notable artists and bands such as Bob Dylan, Selena Gomez, The Black Keys, Demi Lovato, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix, Hilltop Hoods, and so on. The arena received Public Architecture Award (Alterations and Additions) at the 2015 Australian Institute of Architecture Victorian Awards.
