Loyalist is a township in Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada, located on Lake Ontario in the central-eastern part of the province. It is the township that includes the territories of Amherst Island and the mainland territories. The township was formed on January 1, 1998. There are three main communities in Loyalist: Odessa, Amherstview, and Bath. Bath was first settled in 1784. It is one of the oldest communities in the province. Odessa is served by Ontario Highway 401 and is home to Ernestown Secondary School. Amherstview took its name from the island on Lake Ontario. There are a few nice places to see in the township, including one of its main attractions, Babcock Mill Cascade, which is the site of a beautiful fall. Other attractions are Fairfield Historical Park, W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre, Amherstview Golf Club, Loyalist Cove Marina, Bath Centennial Park, and Finkle's Shore Park.
