La Gomera is a small island and a part of the Canary Islands, an archipelago which is one of the overseas lands of Spain. The islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, about 250 miles west from the shores of the African continent. The total area of the island is estimated to total 147 square miles and La Gomera is actually one of the smallest of the Canary Islands.
