Japan National Stadium (国立競技場), previously known as New National Stadium, is an athletic track and multi-purpose stadium located in Meiji Jingu Outer Garden, 10-1 Kasumigaokamachi, Shinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan. It was designed by Kengo Kuma, built between December 2016 – 30 November 2019, and opened to the public on 21 December 2019. Owned by Japan Sport Council, the stadium hosted the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games and the 56th Japan National University Rugby Championship.
