Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the largest airports in China. It is situated in the district of Baiyun–Huadu near the city of Guangzhou, Guangdong province in southern China. It is one of the oldest airfields which was first constructed in the early 1930s. In 2004, the facility underwent a major reconstruction and enhancement, as well as 3 runways were modernized and reconstructed. Today, the airport serves annually to about 70 million passengers which makes it the third busiest airport in China. There are connections with all large cities of the continent, as well as the cities of South America, Australia, and a few European countries. Annually, about 430 million aircraft items are being served by the airport.
