Garden City, known as "Stewart's Folly", is a small village in Nassau County, New York, USA, located on Long Island, 13 miles northeast of John F. Kennedy International Airport and 27 miles east of Manhattan. It was incorporated in 1919 and founded by Alexander Turney Stewart. The village is home to Adelphi University, a private university. The Cathedral of the Incarnation is also in the village and the center of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. Garden City has a train station serving the area.
