Casoria is a small city and a neighborhood of the city of Naples in the region of Campania, southern Italy. It is situated just about 3 miles away of Naples city center is is literally a part of the city. The community is quite large and it was established as a very small settlement near the town of Naples in the 10th century AD. The name of the city is derived from the name of the main palace of the region, Golden House of Raviosa. A few centuries later the villages has turned into a small town and continued growing as a community of farmers and merchants. The early 20th century was still the time of the city's economy relying on agriculture (namely wine and pasta producing), but later on some attempts to industrialize the city took place. Nowadays, Casoria is a fully residential area.
