Bokeo Nature Reserve is a chain of national parks in Laos like the Nam Kan National Park, created to protect the local eco systems and in particular national fauna. The system is primarily known as a natural habitat for gibons, especially black-cheeked gibons, the specie which is considered to be on the verge of extinction. These animals live high on trees and there are plenty of specially built tree-houses for gibons in the park. The fauna of the park is quite diverse and it is also possible to see elephants, tigers, bears, buffaloes, and other animals living in the area. Many tourists visit that park and it is possible to take a 2 or 3 day tours which also include visiting the local natural wonders like waterfalls, rain forests, the area with unique fauna, and so on.
