Beitou Branch of the Taipei Public Library is one of the largest public libraries in the country, situated in the city of Taipei, Taiwan. It is also the country's first so called green library. It is located in Beitou Park in the district of Beitou of the capital city. The library is pretty much new and was established in 2006. Currently, its collection is close to 20,000 items including books, magazines, newspapers, research papers, and other kind of materials. The building of the library is an example of green building which can operate without using electricity, heating, etc. In addition to that, there are special facilities on the roof producing electricity from sunlight.
