It was first released on January 30, 1991, and won 5 Oscars including Best Picture. The score of the film was composed by Howard Shore. The Silence of the Lambs was filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Clay County, West Virginia; Quantico, Virginia, USA. FBI Academy in Quantico, Pittsburgh International Airport, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Bimini Airport in Bahamas were among the filming locations. Old Allegheny County Jail was used for the interiors of Baltimore State Forensic Hospital.

Sorry but you are wrong about the filming location in Clay County, WV. Yes the movie says they are there but it wasn't filmed there and that isn't the Elk River. I know because I've lived there all my life, nearly 50 years, and the Elk River isn't as wide as portrayed in the movie and that certainly wasn't the town of Clay where the funeral was taking place. Clay County is very small and I've been all over the areas portrayed there.
I think the only fault in this amazing movie is one of the scenes between Clarice and Dr. Chilton. In this scene, Clarice says "Yes, but then I would have missed the pleasure of your company." using her femininity which is totally against her character, I think. In the novel, this scene is different and Clarice doesn't say anything like that.
I disagree. I think that was showing her being smart and disliking him.
