Starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chloe Pirrie, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Bill Camp, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling, Annabeth Kelly, and Marielle Heller, the series was released on October 23, 2020, on Netflix, won 2 Golden Globes. It follows the life of Beth Harmon as she struggles to become a Grandmaster in chess. The Queen's Gambit was shot in Ontario, Canada, and Berlin, Germany. The scenes at the Methuen Home Orphanage were filmed at Schloß Schulzendorf. The car accident scene took place at Meadowvale Road Bridge over Little Rouge Creek. Alma Wheatley's house was located at 15 Brant Rd South, Cambridge.
