Rec is a Spanish found-footage horror fantasy action film directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, written by Jaume Balagueró, Paco Plaza, and Luiso Berdejo. Starring Manuela Velasco, Ferran Terraza, Jorge-Yamam Serrano, Pablo Rosso, David Vert, Vicente Gil, Martha Carbonell, and Carlos Vicente, the film centers on a television reporter and cameraman as they follow emergency workers into an apartment building. It was released on 23 November 2007, earned $32.5 million worldwide, and received good reviews. The American remake of the film was released under the name "Quarantine". 

[Rec] was filmed in Barcelona, Spain. The building where the film was shot is located at Rambla de Catalunya, 34 in Barcelona.
