Lost in Translation Locations
Lost in Translation is a romantic comedy film written and directed by Sofia Coppola. Released on August 29, 2003, at Telluride Film Festival and received acclaimed from critics and audiences. Starring Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Giovanni Ribisi, the film depicts an unlikely bond between a middle-aged movie star and a recent Yale Philosophy graduate American woman in Tokyo. It won Academy Awards for "Best Writing, Original Screenplay", and nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Lost in Translation was mostly filmed in Tokyo, Japan. Park Hyatt Tokyo was the main filming location. Filming also took place at Jogan-ji Temple, Ryoan-Ji Temple, and Kawaguchiko Country Club.
