American History X is an American crime drama film directed by Tony Kaye, written by David McKenna. Starring Edward Norton, Edward Furlong, Fairuza Balk, Elliott Gould, Stacy Keach, Ethan Suplee, Avery Brooks, and Beverly D'Angelo. The film was released on October 30, 1998, in the United States, distributed by New Line Cinema. It tells the story of two brothers who become involved in a white supremacist/neo-Nazi movement. Edward Norton received an Oscar nomination for "Best Actor in a Leading Role". And the film is regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. Filming took place in Los Angeles, California.
