Walnut is a city in Los Angeles County, the state of California, USA, located in the eastern part of the county and 27 miles east of Los Angeles. It was incorporated on January 19, 1959 as a city and named for Rancho Los Nogales. It is situated between San Jose Hills and Puente Hills. Local attractions include Walnut Ranch Park, Snow Creek Park, Schabarum Skyline Trail, Istik Bridge, and Lemon Creek Village. It is home to Mt. San Antonio College which is also the principal employer in Walnut. The city is bordered by Pomona to the east, La Puente to the west, Covina to the north, San Dimas to the northeast, West Covina to the northwest, and Diamond Bar, the City of Industry, and Rowland Heights to the south. It hosts the annual Walnut Family Festival.
