Tamil Nadu is one of the two southernmost states of India which can be found right next to the state of Kerala in the southernmost part of the Indian Subcontinent. The largest city and the capital of the state, Chennai, is located in the north easternmost corner of the are and it is a key tourist attraction of non-coastal Tamil Nadu, with numerous temples, palaces, modern business and office centers, entertainment and recreation facilities. There are many other large cities located in the state including Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Hosur, Vellore, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and a few others. One of the union territories of Puducherry, the actual city of Puducherry is located in the eastern coastal part of the state of Tamil Nadu.
