Schefferville is a town in Quebec, Canada, located on the shore of Knob Lake, in the northern part of the province. It was founded by the Iron Ore Company Of Canada in 1953 and incorporated in 1990. Its economy relies on the mining industry. The town is pretty much isolated and the fastest and easiest way to reach it is by air. It is situated on the border with Newfoundland and Labrador and within Innu and Naskapi territories. The town is home to the McGill Subarctic Research Station. Schefferville Airport, situated at the town center, serves the area.
