The town of Orvault is a community in the westernmost part of France, in the region of Pays de la Loire. The town is old and it is one of the most crowded neighborhoods of the city of Nantes, situated about 6 miles north west of the city center. Orvault was founded in the late Roman times and it used to be a small settlement of families who made their living by selling their crafts and some food from their fields. Orvault began growing and developing in the early Medieval times when the first large buildings and the city's cathedral, Saint-Léger cathedral, was built. Since then it became a center of enlightenment and social life of the area. Today, the town is a part of the Loire-Atlantique department and a home to almost thirty thousand people.
