Maumere is a town and the seat of the Sikka Regency in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is one of the largest towns on Flores Island. The 1992 Flores earthquake and tsunami occurred on December 12 on the island, and the town suffered too. Most of the buildings in the town were destroyed. Maumere Airport serves the area.
