Situated near Highway101, Manzanita is a coastal community in north western part of Oregon state, located approximately on the halfway from Garibaldi to Cannon Beach. Manzanita has a truly beautiful setting, surrounded by a few mountains and bordered by the Nehalem Bay to the south. There is a famous Nehalem Bay natural preserve situated near the town. Currently, the population of Manzanita is close to 600 people. In October 2016, a terrible tornado stroke the area, and the town suffered quite serious damage, with plenty of ruined houses and damaged property. There are about 180 families living in the town, and most of the working people are employed in service and community related businesses.
