Mandla (मंडला) is a city in Mandla district, the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It has a very advantageous location on the banks of the Narmada River, and it is the old capital of the Gond dynasty. Kanha–Kisli National Park was established as National Park in 1955 and designated as a tiger reserve in 1973. It hosts Indian leopard, Bengal tiger, Bengal fox, and barasingha, as well as about 300 species of birds and more than 1000 species of flowering plants. It is the first tiger reserve in the country. There are some interesting historic buildings in the city including an old fort and so on. Points of interest in Mandla are Naav Ghat, Mandla Fort, Shaheed Uday Chand Smarak, Mandla Stadium, Nehru Garden, Indoor Stadium, Rani Durgawati Museum, Rapta Ghat, and many Hindu temples.
