Leominster is a large city in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States, situated to the north of Worcester and northwest of Boston. Interstate 190, Route 2, Route 12, Route 13, and Route 117 serve the area. Fitchburg Municipal Airport is also situated to the north of the city's center. The city is bordered by Lancaster to the east, Westminster to the west, Fitchburg and Lunenburg to the north, and Sterling and Princeton to the south. It was settled in 1640 and incorporated as a city in November 1915. The city hosts the Johnny Appleseed Festival every September. It is home to the campus of Mount Wachusett Community College. Local attractions include Barrett Park, Doyle Field, Leominster State Forest, Leominster Trails, and so on.
