A small ghost town in southern California, Kelso is situated right at the area of Mojave Natural Preserve, on absolutely wonderful setting. It used to be a small community established in the early 20th century by the workers who built the railroad here. Today, there are just a few people living in the town, mainly those who work in the park and provide services for tourists. There is one historic building in the town known as The Depot which was built in the 1920s and has still been preserved. There are a few reasons for the town to become abandoned. In addition to absence of job, there are also pretty harsh climate conditions in the area, with really hot and humid summers.
