Johnstown is a city and the county seat of Fulton County, located to the south of Gloversville, New York, United States. It was founded by Sir William Johnson (1715–1774) in 1760. He built Johnson Hall in 1763 and lived there until his death. The city is home to The Fulton County Courthouse, which is one of the oldest still active court houses in the country. It was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
