Estherville is a city in Iowa, United States, located on the Des Moines River in the northern part of the state, 114 miles east of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and close to the Minnesota-Iowa border. It is the seat of Emmet County. It was incorporated in 1881, and named after Esther A. Ridley. The city is home to Iowa Lakes Community College. Iowa Highways 4 and 9 serve the area. Local attractions include Estherville Golf Course, Fort Defiance State Park, Anderson Prairie, Joe Hoye Park, Gold Star Families Memorial Park, etc. Estherville Muni Airport is situated to the east of the city center.

* A meteorite fell to earth a few miles north of Estherville on May 10, 1879. Today it is known as the Estherville Meteorite, and portions of the meteorite are on display in the city's public library.
