Calvert City is a city in northern Marshall County, Kentucky, USA, situated on the banks of the Mississippi River, near the border of Kentucky and Illinois. Named after the founder of the settlement who built the first house there in the middle of the 19th century, the city started growing in population a century later, when the neighboring dam was constructed. The city has a few industrial facilities and factories working in chemical industry and metallurgy. Interstate 24 and U.S. Route 62 serve the area.
