Ashland is a small city in Kentucky, United States, located on the southern bank of the Ohio River, in the northeastern part of the state. It is one of the main cities in the Huntington-Ashland metropolitan area. The city is an important economic center in the region. It is home to King's Daughters Medical Center, the largest employer in Ashland. The city has a total area of 10.77 sq mi (27.89 km2). It was settled in 1786 and incorporated in 1854. There are several historical landmarks and points of interest in the city, such as The Paramount Arts Center, Port of Ashland, Clyffeside Park, Camayo Arcade, Charles and Betty Russell Park, The Highlands Museum & Discovery Center, Central Park, Ashland Train Depot, and Midtown Mall.
