X-Men: The Last Stand Locations
An American action-adventure sci-fi movie X-Men: The Last Stand is based on the fictional team of superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Directed by Brett Ratner, written for the screen by Simon Kinberg and Zak Penn, and scored by John Powell, it is the third film in the X-Men film series and the sequel to X2 (2003). Starring Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer, James Marsden, Aaron Stanford, Shawn Ashmore, Vinnie Jones, and Patrick Stewart, the film premiered at Cannes on May 24, 2006, was released on May 26, 2006, in the US, and grossed $460.4 million worldwide. It became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. X-Men: The Last Stand was mainly shot in British Columbia, Canada. Hatley Castle, an early-1900s mansion in Victoria was used for the scenes of "School for the Gifted". Mountain and cave scenes were filmed in Golden Ears Provincial Park. The shooting also took place at Vancouver Film Studios.
