It premiered at Javits Center on May 10, 2014, was released on May 23, 2014, in the US, and grossed $746 million worldwide against a $200–220 million budget. It became one of the highest-grossing films of 2014. The film also received an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects. X-Men: Days of Future Past was shot in Montreal, Québec, Canada.
