Red Road is a drama mystery thriller movie written and directed by Andrea Arnold and produced by Carrie Comerford. Starring Kate Dickie, Tony Curran, Martin Compston, Paul Higgins, and Natalie Press, it is the first movie in the Advance Party trilogy. The film was mainly shot in a Dogme 95 style which was created by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg. It premiered at Cannes on 20 May 2006 and was released on 27 October 2006, in the United Kingdom. The film won Jury Prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival as well as five BAFTA Scotland Awards. Red Road was shot in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. It was partially set at The Red Road Flats in the district of Balornock, which were demolished between June 2012 and October 2015.
