Once Locations
Once is an Irish romantic musical drama movie written and directed by John Carney. Starring Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová, Hugh Walsh, and Marcella Plunkett, the film follows the story of two young struggling musicians living in Dublin, Ireland. It premiered at Sundance on 20 January 2007, and was released on 23 March 2007 in Ireland, grossed $23.3 million against a $150,000 budget. The film also won an Oscar for "Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song" (For the song "Falling Slowly"). Once was shot in Dublin, Ireland. Filming locations included Simon's Place that is a famous coffee store situated at 22 South Great George's Street. Filming also took place at Dublin Airport, St. Stephen's Green, Dunnes Stores, and Mountjoy Square East. The music shop was located at George's Street Arcade.
