It is set during her final days in 1970s Paris. Starring Angelina Jolie, Pierfrancesco Favino, Haluk Bilginer, Alba Rohrwacher, Valeria Golino, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, the film premiered on August 29, 2024 at the Venice International Film Festival and is scheduled to be released on November 27, 2024 in the United States. Maria was shot in Greece, France, and Italy. Filming locations included Milan, Paris, and Elis. Some scenes were filmed at La Scala Opera House in Milan.
