Directed by Matt Reeves, written by Mark Bomback, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver, and based on the characters created by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, the film is the sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The film stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was shot in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada. Filming also took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
