Yellowknife, NT, Canada

Yellowknife is a city in the Northwest Territories of Canada and serves as the capital of the territory. It is located on the northern shore of Great Slave Lake in northwestern Canada. The city was founded in 1935 following the discovery of gold in the region. Today, Yellowknife is known for its diamond industry, particularly small-scale diamond processing operations. It functions as the educational, industrial, and commercial center of the Northwest Territories. It is also home to several key institutions and sites, including the Department of National Defence building. The Snap Lake Diamond Mine is located about 140 miles (225 kilometers) northeast of the city.

Tourism plays an important role in the local economy. The city offers a variety of events, festivals, restaurants, and attractions such as the Snowking Winter Festival, Folk on the Rocks, The Wildcat Cafe, The Gold Range Bar, Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, Northern Arts and Cultural Centre, Ingraham Trail, Cameron Falls Trail, Bank of Toronto building, Prelude Lake Territorial Park, Bush Pilot's Monument, and Cameron River Ramparts.
